Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital is an 86 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Panama City, Florida which provides treatment options to children, adolescents, adults, active duty service members and their families, and Veterans. Our specialized multidisciplinary treatment services are provided by highly trained psychiatrists, therapists, addiction counselors, nurses, and activities therapists. Panama City, FL is located on the panhandle of northwest Florida on beautiful St. Andrews Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The House Supervisor is responsible for creating an environment of patient focused care by defining and achieving standards for quality patient care on assigned shift. Manages and develops work based teams and groups for assigned shift. Provides assistance to the Director of Nursing in administrative and clinical supervision over Nursing Services including effective utilization of the nursing process to provide quality patient care, establish standards of practice, and provide effective fiscal management. Develops work processes and systems to facilitate excellent patient care outcomes and patient, staff and physician satisfaction. Actively involved in hiring, orientation, performance evaluation and disciplinary action of staff. Provides leadership in maintaining standards for professional Nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Achieves performance outcomes through engagement of the nursing staff. Provides ongoing feedback to staff through verbal and written communication.
Facilitates communication and ensures proper flow of information. Serves as a role model for the delivery of quality patient care.
Investigates any patient care and/or administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with directors, managers, and staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, safe patient care environment.
Education: Attends supervisory training or other education to continuously improve performance in the supervisory role. Provides ongoing education to staff.
