Overview

Looking for an ICU Critical Care RN/Nursing position in the south metro suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota!

Our 12 Bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN is part our 150 bed community based, family patient centered care with a level III trauma ER.

We care for patients with manydifferent diagnoses including but not limited to: sepsis, overdoses, withdrawals, CVAs, acute myocardial infarction, pneumonia and more.

Our complex patients require continuous hemodynamic monitoring, intense medication management, ongoing critical thinking, and excellent communication with team members and families. This is a faced-paced and highly technical medical environment.

About this position:

  • 60 hours every two weeks, 12 hour shifts, working every third weekend
  • Night shift
  • Opportunity to pick up shifts
Responsibilities/Job Description

The RN in ICU is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care for adult patients with a vast array critical care needs. They partners with the patient and their families/significant others to provide them with the best care and education possible. The RN will implement and direct the plan of care with a team model which includes a NA/NST partner and members of other interdisciplinary teams. The RN will evaluate patient response to interventions and expected outcomes and goals. The RN will use EPIC for computerized documentation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • MN RN License in good standing
  • BLS required
  • One (1) year of RN experience in cardiac telemetry, med/surg, emergency (ER), pediatric or adult critical care or ICU experience in a hospital setting. Including experience with acute patient changes and critical care medications.
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire

Preferred:

  • BSN or higher preferred
  • Certification in related specialty is highly desired
  • A minimum of one year current medical surgical RN experience in a Hospital setting is preferred
  • One year adult critical care experience is preferred
  • Certification by the American Association of Critical Care Nursing or in a related specialty is highly preferred
