JOB SUMMARY :
JOHN H. STROGER HOSPITAL - MATERNAL CHILD - LABOR & DELIVERY - SHIFT 7:00 A.M -7:30 P.M. (36 hours a week/72 hours a pay period)

The Clinical Nurse I is a professional care provider who is responsible and accountable for coordinating and providing safe, effective individualized nursing care to critically ill patients and supportive care to significant others. Assesses patient's needs and plan, implement and evaluate nursing care according to established standards. These activities require nursing judgment based on application of scientific principles of nursing, critical thinking, problem solving and teaching / learning. May also supervise and assign duties to others when assigned as Charge Nurse or Team Leader.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
  • One (1) year of Med/Surg nursing experience within an acute care setting.
  • Must possess a current Basic Life Support card (BLS). (Must provide card at time of interview).
  • Must be certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or be able to obtain certification within Three (3) months of hire . (Must provide proof at time of interview if already obtained).
  • Must possess an active Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) or be able to obtain certification within Three (3) months of hire . (Must provide card at time of interview if already obtained).
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish. (Language Proficiency Assessment required)

Any NNOC member who responds and or accepts this position will waive his / her right to be the 60 (sixty) day trial period in accordance with Section 4.4 (N) of the CBA as of the date of this posting.
