Our doctors and nurses have the expertise and experience to care for some of the most complex pregnancies and deliveries, including women with pregnancies complicated by diabetes, high blood pressure and premature labor. Additionally, our neonatal intensive care unit enables us to care for babies born at any gestational age. Banner Thunderbird utilizes a sophisticated electronic medical records system to ensure better, safer care for you and your baby. This system has been proven to prevent medical errors and to provide more comprehensive care for mothers and babies. A 10-bed special care obstetrical unit is available for expectant mothers experiencing high-risk complications and those in need of close observation. This unique specialty unit, directed by a maternal-fetal medicine specialist, a physician specializing in care for high-risk pregnancies, works closely with the patient's primary care and OB/GYN physicians and neonatologists to ensure that mother and baby receive the best care possible. Their goal is to preserve each pregnancy until a safer point for the baby's arrival has been reached. The unit features all private rooms, a computer station for patient use, and an activities room stocked with craft items, movies and educational materials. The activities room also serves as a place to socialize with family, friends and other antepartum patients. This position is for a FULL-TIME Night Shift opening in the Antepartum Unit . The hours for this position are from 7pm-7:30am and will require 3 shifts per week which will include weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. You will also have the opportunity utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage as well as enjoy an 18% night shift differential as well as a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential . Banner Thunderbird is certified as a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center and features a 35-bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit that cares for babies of high-risk pregnancies and those born prematurely. Banner Thunderbird is also home to the only pediatric intensive care unit for seriously ill or injured children in the area. Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status. Bachelor's degree preferred. Professional certification preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
