This is a unique opportunity within a world-class academic department of urology which is ranked as #4 by US News & World Report.

Over the past 19 years, the Department of Urology at WCM has grown substantially. From 5 faculty members and approximately 9,000 patient encounters in 2002, the Department's clinical activity now includes over 40,000 total patient visits with 30 full time faculty members and another 15 coordinated faculty at the network hospital sites including, NewYork-Presbyterian, Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital where significant growth opportunities abound. The Department of Urology at WCM is among the top Urology Departments in the nation ranked 15th in NIH-funding among over 100 departments.

The Department of Urology provides outstanding patient care, educates future leaders in urology, and continues productive academic performance in all subspecialty areas. Its 30 outstanding clinical and research faculty have expertise in all areas of Urology, including Male Reproductive and Sexual Medicine, Benign Kidney and Prostate Conditions, Voiding Dysfunction, Urogynecology/Female Pelvic Health & Reconstructive Medicine, Urologic Oncology, and Pediatric Urology. As home to a prestigious P50 SPORE grant focused on the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of prostatic cancer, there are outstanding opportunities for the next Chair to develop and oversee high-impact collaboration in basic, clinical, and population health research. The Department aims to maintain high-performing faculty, provide outstanding patient care, educate future leaders in urology, and continue productive academic performance in all subspecialty areas.

The fully accredited ACMGE urology residency program finishes three residents per year; the fully accredited ACMGE Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery graduates one fellow per year. There are two additional fellowship programs in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery and Urologic Oncology. Translational research is conducted in the Urologic Oncology Research Laboratories, Center for Male Reproductive Medicine and Microsurgery, Male Infertility Genetics Laboratory, and the Institute for Pediatric Urology Research Lab.

Reporting to the Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine and the CEO and President of New York-Presbyterian Hospital, the Chair works closely with the leadership of the Hospital and the Medical College, faculty, and staff and is responsible for the overall administrative, academic, and clinical activities of the Department. The school seeks an accomplished physician leader and clinician with a national reputation for clinical and scholarly activities. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, strong financial acumen, and have the ability to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, diversity, equity, and accountability across the Medical Center.

Qualified candidates must hold an MD (or equivalent medical degree), be board-certified in Urology, and eligible for medical licensure in New York.
