Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time, Days
 
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Establish goals and priorities for my team and direct the efforts of staff toward accomplishment of objectives.

  • Recognize and act on growth opportunities to advance the hospitalâ™s mission and vision.

  • Resolve problems quickly and in a manner that preserves the integrity of those involved.

  • Inspire staff to move in a direction that supports the strategic plan, promotes evidence-based practice and supports teamwork and respect for diverse interests, needs and values.

  • Place patient safety at the center of all leadership decisions made.

  • Accept accountability for problem-solving issues and work with members of the healthcare team to resolve concerns.

  • Identify my own knowledge deficits and assume responsibility for personal conduct and professional development.

  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze problems and develop solutions that align with the organizationâ™s mission, vision and values.

  • Proactively monitor key performance indicators and make appropriate adjustments to processes.

  • Plan, implement and evaluate schedules in accordance with patient needs.

  • Leverage the strengths and skills of others in order to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Utilize work time effectively and adhere to established deadlines. 

  • Establish forms of communication to keep staff apprised of activities and practice changes.

  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing to clearly articulate and support opinions and conclusions.

  • Provide suggestions, insights and performance feedback in a manner that is constructive and actionable.

  • Highlight successes as well as areas of growth when providing feedback.

  • Actively solicit opinions from others before drawing conclusions.

  • Select and attract outstanding staff that upholds the mission, vision and values of Shawnee Mission Health.

  • Offer challenging growth opportunities to associates in order to develop their career goals.

  • Contribute to the growth of others by mentoring and providing constructive feedback.

  • Provide in the moment feedback and conduct annual reviews to keep staff abreast of performance, celebrate success and identify any need for improvement.

  • Keep direct supervisor abreast of successes and need for assistance.

  • Establish a process for daily leader rounding on patients, associates and key stakeholders.

  • Manage associate concerns in a timely manner and assure them that appropriate actions have occurred.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Bachelorâ™s Degree from an accredited school of nursing

    At least 1 year of Operating Room Position-Related Experience

  • Kansas Registered Nurse License

  • BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
