Carilion Clinic Dental Care is expanding and seeking an additional pediatric dentist to join our team.  Established in 1980 as a hospital-based general practice, we expanded in 2001 to include pediatrics, and subsequently added a general practice post-doctoral residency program.  Carilion Clinic Pediatric Dental Care serves patients from a wide geographic range with a high level of need due to both financial and age-related barriers of care and is among the busiest providers of pediatric dentistry in Southwest Virginia. Carilion Clinic Pediatric Dentistry has approximately 13,000 visits per year with sufficient volume for an additional full-time pediatric dentist.  In September 2021, we will be moving to a newly fabricated state of the art multidisciplinary facility with twenty-seven operatories and two sedation suites. Affiliated with a 751-bed academic hospital with a Level-1 Trauma center, the clinic is a major access point for children and is on target for major future growth. We offer ample opportunity to participate in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary clinic with active involvement in medical student/dental resident education, accredited craniofacial clinic in addition to engagement in community outreach. Potential exists for academic affiliation through the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and participation in research. In addition, there is potential for further opportunities in leadership and education as we are working to establish a Pediatric Dentistry Residency program as soon as feasible.

Our thriving team-driven practice is searching for a career-oriented pediatric dentist that is either board certified or board eligible. Our ideal candidate is patient centered, compassionate and enjoys working in both clinical and hospital settings and participating in resident education.

Minimum requirements include:

• DDS/DMD degree from accredited dental school
• Completion of an accredited residency in Pediatric Dentistry
• Board certified or Board eligible
• Interest in hospital-based pediatric dental practice and in office sedation
• Current unencumbered dental license and DEA
• Eligible for Virginia dental license
