The Department of Pediatrics at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont along is hiring an Associate or Assistant Professor to join the Vermont Child Health Improvement Program (VCHIP). VCHIP is a population-based maternal and child health services research and quality improvement (QI) program that applies extensive experience in improvement science, public health, and health policy to improve health care delivery and outcomes for Vermont's children and families. Working in close partnership with public health and human services professionals, we engage the clinicians and community partners in our statewide network of 50 pediatric and family medicine practices in practice-based QI initiatives and in structured data collection and analysis to complement Vermont's population-level health and public health data sets. This position may be filled at the Associate Professor or Assistant Professor level and is open to multiple pathways including clinical, research, or education scholar pathway (commensurate with experience). The new faculty member will have the opportunity to work on existing VCHIP projects and develop their own portfolio in collaboration with colleagues at the University of Vermont, the University of Vermont Medical Center, the State of Vermont, Accountable Care Organizations, commercial insurers, child health practitioners and other programs that may impact child and family health in Vermont. Projects have a strong focus on pediatric primary care, health care systems improvement, and public health. Qualified candidates must have credentials appropriate for an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Assistant Professor clinical scholar, research scholar, or education scholar pathway at UVM. Experience with pediatric quality improvement or health policy initiatives, track record of publication and grant funding, and training and board certification in pediatrics is preferred.
