JOB SUMMARY

MATERNAL CHILD - PICU - STROGER HOSPITAL - SHIFT: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (36 hours a week/72 hours a pay period)

The Clinical Nurse I is a professional care provider who is responsible and accountable for coordinating and providing safe, effective individualized nursing care to critically ill patients and supportive care to significant others. Assesses patient's needs and plan, implement and evaluate nursing care according to established standards. These activities require nursing judgment based on application of scientific principles of nursing, critical thinking, problem solving and teaching / learning. MULTIPLE VACANCIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a licensed registered professional nurse in the State of Illinois
  • One (1) year of Pediatric or Med/Surg nursing experience in an acute care setting
  • Must possess an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or able to obtain within two (2) weeks of starting. (If already obtained must provide card at time of interview)
  • Must be certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or be able to obtain within 3 months of hire. (If already obtained must provide card at time of interview)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
  • Bilingual

Any NNOC member who responds and/or accepts this position will waive his/her right to the 60 (sixty) day trial period in accordance with Section 4.4(N) of the CBA as of the date of this posting.
