SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist supports the quality of care provided to patients by Department of Nursing staff through optimal orientation programs, ongoing evaluation of competence, and support of lifelong learning. The Nursing Professional Development Specialist promotes relevant professional development opportunities and mentorship for members of the department of nursing at all levels to assist with the achievement of personal and professional goals. This position supports the Adult Ed and Life Lion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

•  Masters degree is required 
• 3 years direct care clinical experience required 
•  Current licensure by Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing required 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Previous teaching experience 
• AHA Instructor Certification 
• Clinical Certification 
• Certification in Nursing Professional Development 
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience
