Additional Job Details

Successful applicants will join an active translational research team that studies the genetics and biology of glioblastoma. Our research program uses a multidisciplinary approach to analyze the function of developmental cell-signaling pathways, such as the RTKs EGFR and MET, in glial tumorigenesis. Our approach uses several brain tumor model systems, including mouse genetic models of glioblastoma, patient-derived human glioblastoma stem cells, and novel tumor models in Drosophila melanogaster. Our research, which includes small scale clinical trials, is aided by productive collaborations with other neuro-oncology researchers in the Departments of Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, Pathology, and Hematology and Medical Oncology. We welcome young scientists who seek to enter this dynamic field. Trainees in our lab will have opportunities to work with our brain tumor model systems, perform drug testing experiments in pre-clinical paradigms, interface with clinical neuro-oncology faculty and trainees, and advocate for patient outreach and education.

The ideal candidate will have experience with mouse and/or Drosophila genetics and molecular neurobiology, neural stem cell culture, and/or neuro-anatomy. For more plese see https://www.reneereadlab.org/, @RRead_Lab. For more information on current funding and research see our new grant Ivy Foundation Emerging Leader Award and new publication released this month in Glia.
