Description

The Division of General and Community Pediatrics, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), is seeking a mid-career to senior pediatric researcher to join a diverse, talented, multidisciplinary team of individuals. We share a passion and commitment to transform the delivery of primary care and foster the innovation needed to improve population health. We aim to accomplish this through exceptional clinical programs, high-impact clinical, translational, and educational research, innovative educational programs, and effective academic and community partnerships.

The Division is recruiting a mid- to senior-level researcher focused on population health and health equity, racism/discrimination, and/or health services delivery for children with medical and/or social complexity to join the exceptional research team and infrastructure already in place at CCHMC. Opportunities abound to conduct research in pursuit of the goal of making Cincinnati's kids the healthiest in the nation by leveraging our regional population health initiative. This initiative already includes a range of diverse partnerships and deep community involvement where research is being executed alongside education, advocacy, and clinical care delivery. The hospital's commitment to health equity is longstanding, most recently supercharged by a new strategic plan, new Chair of Pediatrics, new Michael A. Fisher Center for Child Health Equity, and new value-based pediatric care network.

CCHMC is an extraordinary institution with unparalleled resources and whose faculty conduct breakthrough research. CCHMC is ranked #2 in sponsored program awards in the U.S. among all children's hospital or pediatric departments. CCHMC is consistently among the top U.S. News and World Report's Best Children's Hospitals. The Division of General and Community Pediatrics is clinically productive with six primary care sites and four additional clinical service lines including: Complex Care Center (a clinic that cares exclusively for children with medical complexity), CHECK (Comprehensive Health Evaluations for Cincinnati's Kids) Foster Care Center, Environmental Health and Lead Clinic, and Breastfeeding Medicine Clinic. Virtually all sites have developed expertise in quality improvement and system redesign, with rigorous measurement of outcomes.

Cincinnati is one of America's most vibrant and beautiful river cities. It has all the amenities of a big city - including outstanding cultural offerings and exceptional schools - with the warmth of a small town and an extraordinary quality of life. Cincinnati has had tremendous growth over the last ten years and is increasingly recognized as a great place to live and visit.

Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Interested applicants are invited to send a CV and cover letter to William Brinkman, MD, MEd, MSc, Division Director, General & Community Pediatrics (bill.brinkman@cchmc.org) c/o Nathan Gohlke, Physician and Faculty Recruitment (Nathan.Gohlke@cchmc.org).

Cincinnati Children's is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, military or veteran status, sexual orientation, or other protected status in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Cincinnati Children's is committed to building a diverse faculty and strongly encourages women, minorities, individuals with disabilities and veterans to apply.

Qualifications

The ideal candidates would hold an MD, DO, PhD, ScD, or DrPH degree. If an MD or DO, candidates should be Board Certified in General Pediatrics. Faculty must qualify for a position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The faculty member would be expected to have a strong track record of extramural funding and attain R level funding within the first 3 years of appointment if not currently externally funded. The faculty member would also be expected to mentor trainees and junior faculty. We are seeking individuals who are highly professional, motivated, collaborative, and who foster a culture of inclusion.
