Discover Your Career at Emory University

Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.

Description

Children's Center for Neurosciences Research (CCNR), a joint entity within Emory University School of Medicine and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, is seeking faculty members at the Assistant Professor level who are pioneering independent research programs in translationally relevant neuroscience. Physician-scientists are encouraged to apply, and an MD and/or PhD is required.

We seek candidates studying underlying mechanisms and potential treatments for neurologic disorders affecting children. Areas of particular interest include neuroimmunology, brain tumor biology, neurobiology of epilepsy, and neurogenetics. Approaches that capitalize on big data, immune modulation, or cell-based therapies are encouraged. The candidate is expected to develop an innovative, externally funded research program and to engage in multidisciplinary teams.

Faculty appointment will be in the Division of Neurology in the Department of Pediatrics within Emory University School of Medicine. We offer a highly interactive collegial research environment with state-of-the-art facilities, as well as proximity to and collaborations with Georgia Institute of Technology, Morehouse School of Medicine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Emory Brain Health Center, the Goizueta Institute @Emory Brain Health, and Emory National Primate Research Center. Please visit our websites for more information about the Department of Pediatrics or Research.

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University have worked together since 1956, facilitating leading-edge pediatric research, training, and innovation. Together, our partnership advances research and facilitates evidence-based quality care for children. The Emory Department of Pediatrics continues to be ranked in the top five pediatric departments in National Institutes of Health research funding.

This job opportunity is part of our ambitious $200M investment to substantially grow our team of world-class child health researchers. Click here to learn more about our plan to recruit 30 new researchers over the next five years.

Interested applicants should apply online and upload their CV and a letter of interest highlighting their research.
