JOB SUMMARY

In partnership with Marcus Autism Center leadership, plans, develops and executes the long-term vision and short-term strategic direction for clinical care, clinical research and clinical training at Marcus Autism Center. Leads the implementation of the Marcus Autism Center plan. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of patient care and services that promote advancement of care for children with autism spectrum disorder across the system.

EDUCATION * MD in Child Psychiatry, General Pediatrics, or Developmental Pediatrics; or PhD or PsyD in Child Psychology; or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst Doctoral (BCBA-D)

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY * Meet professional staff credentialing requirements

EXPERIENCE * Established clinician in psychology, behavior analysis, psychiatry, developmental pediatrics or other related specialty.* Established clinical researcher with track record of publications and funding.* Minimum of 7 years' experience in care of children and adolescents across the spectrum of autism and related disorders applying broad-based, multidisciplinary approaches to assessment, intervention, and treatment.* Experience with systems' change and an appreciation of a need for community viable models of care.* Experience in care delivery approaches in natural settings such as schools and homes* Experience with lifespan issues in ASD from infants/toddlers through transition to adulthood* Experience delivering expected results in complex environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum of 7 years' experience in clinical, training and research leadership.* Multidisciplinary knowledge base including child and human development, clinical and education approaches for serving individuals with ASD, family-systems approaches, and appreciation of the impact of neurosciences on intervention.* Demonstrated leadership skills in facilitating and leading multidisciplinary teams including clinical, academic, research and community providers and administrators.* Receptive and constructive communicator conducive to building collaborations and fostering adult learning.* Experience with administrative, regulatory, and fiscal matters of clinical practice to support advocating for the needs of children with ASD with health system leaders, community leaders, and/or with payors.* Background in clinical trials desired.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative Oversight1. Oversees and leads the implementation of the Marcus Autism Center annual and strategic plans in collaboration with accountable leaders.2. Oversees clinical care delivery, clinical research, and clinical training programs at Marcus Autism Center.3. Measures, monitors, and achieves success metrics as defined in the Marcus strategic plan. 4. Tracks and monitors performance against the annual plan (people, quality and safety, patient experience, financial and operational).5. Provides clinical service, research, and teaching/training as applicable.People1. Supervises, advises, and supports Program Directors, physicians, psychologists, advanced practice providers and other applicable staff.2. Responsible for recruitment and selection of physicians, psychologists, advanced practice providers, and other applicable staff.3. Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs to promote the recruitment, retention, professional development, and continuing education for Program Directors, physicians, psychologists, advanced practice providers, and other applicable staff.4. Facilitates multidisciplinary teams of professionals from different perspectives, disciplines, clinical philosophies, and approaches to evaluate processes and systems, generate alternatives and make recommendations to increase access, increase reimbursement, reduce costs, improve customer satisfaction, and produce favorable clinical outcomes. Clinical Care and Quality1. Provides overall leadership to care delivery. This will include, but is not limited to, overseeing the delivery of clinical care, quality care, coding compliance, customer service survey results and initiatives, process improvements/outcome studies, and facilitating operational problem solving.2. Work with Directors and Administrators to identify and implement operational improvements in several clinical areas such as intake, care coordination, insurance billing and authorization, waitlist management, home based services, and outpatient and day treatment programs.3. Oversees quality management and achievement of quality goals and outcomes. 4. Rounds to influence with patients, staff, and clinicians to identify quality and safety opportunities and to reinforce system efforts to improve quality of care and customer service while participating in the advancement and continuous monitoring of quality measures.5. Responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support provision of services.6. Ensures emphasis of clinical programs is on empirically supported clinical practices, while moving beyond these in a research capacity, where appropriate, to advance the practice of care. 7. Leads development and implementation of innovation pipeline to advance clinical care and research.8. Identifies opportunities and actively integrates care of autism spectrum disorder into medical and surgical care throughout the Children's system.Research and Teaching1. Supports all research and provides oversight of all teaching conducted within the area, including maintaining relationships/affiliations with external agencies, as appropriate2. Collaborates with Marcus research and teaching directors so that clinical efforts are synergistic with research and teaching and output is maximized.Financial1. Works with the Director of Operations and accountable leaders to develop operational and capital budgets for clinical operations which accurately reflect the financial and operational needs of Marcus programs, both short and long-term and in alignment with the Marcus strategic plan.2. Works with Program Directors and Administration to manage financial resources to meet budge expectations. Able to explain and justify variances from budget and implement actions to achieve positive budget expectations.3. Partners with the Foundation to support fundraising efforts in support of the Marcus Autism Center plan.

Community and Government Affairs1. Works collaboratively with Program Directors across Marcus, across Children's, and with providers in the community to standardize Marcus' offering of services and increase access to quality community-viable models of care.2. Develops strong community partnerships to improve access to care and resources in the community - locally and nationally. 3. Partners with Government Affairs to support policy and advocacy efforts with state and federal government departments and agencies.
