Discover Your Career at Emory University

Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.

Description

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Cardiology, invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the broad area of Cardiovascular Biology (MD and/or PhD required). Our high-volume clinical center is seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about altering the outcomes of patients with congenital heart disease. Our center is known for both advancements in basic science (developmental biology, 3D bioprinting of valves and vascular models, stem cell-based investigations of CHD and novel technologies aiding in detection and treatment of CHD) and for outcomes-based research. Our diverse faculty are dedicated mentors in these arenas. The ideal candidate would focus on areas of particular interest: outcomes-based research; computational exploration of potential surgical or transcatheter solutions in congenital heart disease; and/or artificial intelligence use in big data. Approaches that capitalize on exploration in outcomes or new approaches in heart transplantation, pulmonary hypertension, bioengineering, cardiac genetics, and cardio oncology are strongly encouraged. The candidate will be expected to develop an innovative, externally funded research program, as well as engage in cross-disciplinary research programs.

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University have worked together since 1956, facilitating leading-edge pediatric research, training, and innovation. Together, our partnership advances research and facilitates evidence-based quality care for children. In 2020, the Emory Department of Pediatrics was the #1 ranked pediatric department in National Institutes of Health research funding.

This job posting is part of our ambitious $200M investment to substantially grow our team of world class child health researchers over the next five years. Contact peds.research@emory.edu with inquiries and for more information.

Interested applicants should should apply online and include their CV, research and teaching statements, as well as a diversity statement and the names of 3 references. Inquiries cand be sent to Michael Davis (medavis@emory.edu).
