Summary:
This Pediatric Echo Technician Sonographer position is responsible for performing standard and complex congenital echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE's). The patient population ranges from newborn to young adults. The echo sonographers must be skilled and have the ability to effectively work with pediatric patients with a wide variety of complex medical and psychosocial conditions. Must have patience and compassion to work with children who may be ill or frightened. Must be technology-minded, detail-oriented and able to follow precise directions. Must be able to perform high quality scans on pediatric neonatal patients who can weigh less than one pound and potentially have complex medical issues.
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) is a 150-bed hospital serving the fastest growing area of San Antonio. Specialized care includes orthopedic and surgical services, ICU, women's services, a newborn nursery, comprehensive cardiovascular care from diagnostics to open heart surgery, vascular lab, sleep center, emergency services, the CHRISTUS Weight Loss Institute, wound care, rehabilitation, and more. The campus also boasts an Outpatient Imaging Center and three medical plazas, one of which houses our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Health Center.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent is required
- Associate in Science and or completion of echo sonographer school, or a Bachelor's degree in a biological science field is preferred.
- 0-5 years of recent experience in performing pediatric cardiac echo's is required.
- BLS is required.
- Certification as Registered Diagnostic Cardiology Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or as a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is preferred.
