Position Summary

The Division of Pediatric Neuroradiology at Phoenix Children’s in Phoenix, Arizona is currently recruiting for a full-time Neuroradiology or Pediatric Subspecialty trained pediatric neuroradiologist.

Phoenix Children’s, the largest (433 beds) and most complex free-standing children’s hospital in Arizona, is experiencing significant growth in the need for pediatric services in the Phoenix Valley area. To better serve these needs, two new pediatric hospital satellite centers will open their doors in the next approximately 12 months. In addition, a currently existing satellite center is expanding its urgent care footprint with a new 35,000 sq.ft Emergency Department. All new growth locations will be equipped with full-service radiology departments which will support outpatient and 24/7 inpatient and ED services, staffed by Phoenix Children’s Hospital Pediatric Radiologists. In preparation for this growth in imaging services, the Radiology department is beginning the recruitment of several additional pediatric radiologists to meet these needs.

The PCH Department of Radiology consists of 25 full-time radiologists designated into Body (13 radiologists), Neuro (6) and IR (6) divisions and is supported by a full-time imaging research PhD scientist. PCH Radiology faculty hold appointments to the University of Arizona College of Medicine (Phoenix), Mayo Clinic (Scottsdale), and Creighton University School of Medicine (Phoenix). A multidisciplinary Fetal Care program is supported by an active and growing Fetal Imaging Program in Radiology.

An expanding program of teaching and research includes 3 ACGME-accredited Pediatric Radiology fellow positions, 2 additional non-accredited fellow positions (Neuro and IR) as well as fellows, residents, and medical students from affiliated Radiology programs. PCH maintains a Master Research Agreement with Philips Health Tech, which supports an active program of clinical translational research of early-stage development hardware and software applications in imaging and image-guided therapy. The 45,000 square foot PCH Radiology department maintains state of the art imaging technology with regular refreshes supported by the recent Philips-PCH Enterprise Agreement.

Pediatric Neuroradiologists at PCH work exclusively in neuroradiology. All interventional procedures and body imaging studies are handled by the separate interventional and body radiology sections. A hybrid model of onsite and offsite reading is currently supported by full home PACS workstations, allowing for flexible work schedules. Subspecialized pediatric anesthesiologists provide anesthesia services when necessary for all available imaging studies.

The Phoenix Valley Region is the fifth largest metropolitan area in the US. Over the last several years, Phoenix and its surrounding communities have experienced significant population growth while still maintaining a favorable cost of living compared to the other largest metro areas. Year-round sunshine, abundant scenic desert landscape, and access to every possible cultural and recreational and spectator sports activities are other advantages of living in the Phoenix Valley area.

The staff physician shall provide patient care services and will support the PCH mission of providing hope, healing and the best health care for children and their families.
